FAQs

How long will my order take to complete?

Every job is unique in its own way. Some jobs can be completed in minutes, but others may take several days to accomplish in their entirety. Please let us know when you require your project to be completed, and we will let you know if it is possible. We will go to considerable lengths to satisfy even the most stringent deadlines you may have.

In your account, you can see a list of your most recent orders. This will display the status of your current orders in progress as well as the status of your completed orders. You can use this page to check on the progress of existing orders, as well as to create reorders of previous tasks that use the same graphic assets.

Are your products eco-friendly?

Historically, the printing industry has a poor reputation for environmental care, with excessive use of water and electricity, wasted paper handling and the use of volatile chemicals that result in toxic waste. Environmental protection is one of Rush Flyer Printing’s major concerns, and we are committed to putting our planet first.

We offer an incredibly large range of eco-friendly printing products and on all our printing machines, we use soy inks made from natural soybeans. Recycled paper is now our standard card stock and is available on all our products including recycled business cards, brochures, presentation folders, sales sheets, stationery, catalogs, flyers, calendars and more.

Rush Flyer Printing is committed to environmentally focused printing techniques and processes to do what we can to help our planet:

  • Using soy ink.
  • Using stocks of recycled paper as standard.
  • Printing methods such as duplex printing, that reduce paper usage.
  • Modern machines that significantly reduce energy consumption.
  • Elimination of toxic and volatile chemicals.
  • Alcohol free printing machines.
  • We process surplus machines and computer parts.
  • We recycle our printing plates, press blankets, bottles, cans and containers.

Why do my artworks need bleed?

It is necessary to have artwork bleed when a design contains color or ink that extends all the way to the edge of the sheet. It doesn’t matter whether this ink is a photograph or a simple color panel; it’s all the same. The process of printing is, at its heart, a mechanical one, and our machines require a gripping area on the edge of the sheet where they can operate without destroying the product.

The bleed on either side of all submitted files should be 2mm in order to ensure that there are no white areas visible on the printed result. In other words, your design (including all images and graphics) should always be 2mm larger than the actual print format. A failure to do so may result in minor deviations, which may result in white margins on the printed page. It is important to keep fonts and other important aspects of your artwork at least 3mm away from the final format (not counting bleeding) and avoid using edges as edges in layouts to ensure that they are visible.

Do I need a proof?

A proof is a one-time replica of your printed document that is used for visual examination to guarantee that the layout and colors of your document are exactly as you wanted them to be. A proof is also known as a proofset. It is necessary to proof a document before it can be sent to the press for final printing.

Our standard procedure is to prepare and provide to you an electronic proof in PDF format or on printed paper, which may be inspected in person at our store or emailed to you. For tasks requiring several colors, we can create a proof on our machines to demonstrate how the varied colors will appear on the final product.

This is the best guarantee you can have that every component of our work, as well as your own, has been completed correctly, and that everything reads and appears just as you planned. Mistakes can and do occur from time to time. It is in everyone’s best interests if faults are discovered during the proofreading process rather than after the task has been completed and delivered.
